Title: BLACK FRIDAY (Full Story)

Synopsis:

There’s a serial killer on the loose and the police believe they have him cornered until the facts surface.  

Review:

It is revealed that a killer is on the loose. We then see Damian (Mike Ezuruonye) holding Andrea at knifepoint in her home. Is he the guy that the police are searching for? The police were not searching the homes in the complex and Damian wasn’t demanding anything from his victim so it wasn’t clear initially what was going on.

Later in the evening Damien saves Andrea’s life and we see that he is not a killer. The two connect and audience finally knows who Damien is and we start to care about him. And then he is killed. That’s the gist of the story.

Let’s Talk. This movie felt like a fake crime drama. First off, after Damien was killed it was ridiculous to see Andrea bawling like that. He’s a guy that she just met that night – a guy who initially threatened her life. She cried like he was the love of her life. Insane.

There were two other characters in the story, Clara and the security guy. The story doesn’t show what became of them so this is a loose end in the drama. There was so much unnecessary drama that occurred when all Andrea had to do was  tell the police that Damian was actually a victim. 

Here’s the only great thing about this movie: Mike Ezuruonye. He is a talented actor but even he couldn’t save this film. “Black Friday” was shorter than most African movies, therefore there was time to clarify the story, catch the real killer, and make ‘Black Friday” the better crime movie that it could have been.
