Synopsis:

Review:

Jane (Joyce Kalu) is the queen of a wealthy family. She believed it was high time for her son, Cheta, to marry a successful woman. Cheta’s best friend, Lance (Vicker), arranged for him to meet Emen (Mercy Johnson).

Even was an attractive woman but a gold digger. With Lance’s help she planned to swindle Cheta and his royal family out of a fortune. Somehow along the way, she changed her mind and abandoned the plan.

Let’s Talk. This is a royal saga. It’s slow moving and doesn’t really climax until the end of part one. As noted above, the story is about a plot to dupe a prince out of his wealth. When Emen developed feelings for the prince and decided she wanted out, Lance threatened to expose her for the gold digger that she really is.

What was interesting and unsaid was that if Lance exposed Emen, he would also expose himself. He was the family’s friend, trusted by both Cheta and his mother. Why didn’t Emen realize this?

What’s funny about the drama was that the palace staff was so alert to the family affairs and constantly gossiped amongst themselves. This brought humor to the story.

The sequel titled “Royal Grace” is the more intriguing part of the story. There was a home invasion in one of the scenes and the one question worth asking is how did the maid know that the intruder in the palace was there to kill Emen? He didn’t mutter a word! He could have simply been a robber, after all they were a wealthy family.

Also, it would have been interesting to see how the killer got past the guards on the premises. Tsk, tsk.

Despite a few irksome details, “Royal Wealth/Royal Grace” is well done and well played by all actors – especially Mercy Johnson who rocks in the dresses.

The ending could have been more detailed because although all of the hands in the pot were exposed, how the crimes were punished was left unsaid. RECOMMEND
