TEARS OF MY JOY

Title: TEARS OF MY JOY (1 & 2)

Starring: Tonto Dikeh, Mahamoud Arab, Bethels Agomouh

Synopsis:

A nigerian couple relocates to the United States for a better life, however they hit roadblocks when they trust a friend to help them obtain their green cards.

Review:

Ayo (Mahamoud Arab) and his wife Agnes (Tonto Dikeh) relocated from Nigeria to the United States for a better life. Lacking a green card and legal work papers, Ayo borrowed Eric’s identity in order to obtain employment.

Since Eric (Bethels Agomuoh) was a trusted friend, Ayo asked him to marry his wife so that she would become a US citizen. It turned out that Eric didn’t live life on the straight and narrow path. After he married Agnes, he flipped the script and made demands in order to follow through with the immigration process.

Let’s Talk. “Tears of My Joy” started out great however, it left a lot of unanswered questions. Ayo ran away. Where did he run off to? He was truly a punk for deserting his wife.

Where was Stacie when Agnes suffered hard times? Whatever happened to Eric? How long was he sentenced to prison? How did Agnes get divorced in order to marry her new boyfriend? Did Agnes ever become a citizen? Did she have a boy or a girl? These are just a few of the unanswered questions that arise from watching this movie.

Unfortunately, the movie wasn’t thorough and needed to be three or four parts long in order to properly conclude the story and tie up the many loose ends. Maybe there will be a sequel at some point.

As far as performances “Tears of my Joy” is one of those rare instances where a Director plays a part in a movie and is actually great in the role. However, the best performance is by Tonto Dikeh who played Agnes.

The underlying message here is that with faith in God you can achieve anything. RECOMMEND
