MIDNIGHT WHISPER

Title: MIDNIGHT WHISPER (1 & 2)

Starring: Ini Edo, Clem Ohameze, Ginnefine Kanu

Synopsis:

Ben and Silvia’s marriage was already on the rocks when they hired a strange housemaid who had her eyes set on Ben…or at least so it appeared.

Review:

Ben (Clem Ohameze) and Silvia (Ini Edo) are a married couple constantly at war. Ben hired Carol (Ginnefine Kanu) a young, shapely, housemaid who desired Ben and set out to destroy his marriage.

It appears that Carol was a witch and she eventually wiggled her way into Ben’s pants and also slept with Friday, another member of the household staff.

Let’s Talk. This is a bizarre movie that led the audience to believe that Ben was dreaming and none of the drama actually took place. It’s a thriller of sorts and managed to pique the interest and that’s a plus.

Of course there were faults. At one point in the movie, Ben pointed a gun at Carol but she somehow overpowered him on the bed and the gun slipped from his hand. How likely is it that a woman could overpower a man? He could have just grabbed the gun and shot her.

Also, Silvia entered the room during the tussle and then  the scene cuts and we never see what became of that situation. The next thing we know Carol is in the basement. Story execution was strange at times and confusing.

In terms of acting, the standout here is Ginnefine Kanu who was believable as the wicked, crazy, witch. Ini and Clem had good chemistry as a couple and Ime Bishop balanced the chaos with humor. RECOMMEND
