LOSING YOU

Title: LOSING YOU (1 & 2)

Starring:  Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Adjetey Anang

Synopsis:

A divorced man finds himself in a position of choosing between his new love and the mother of his children who had fallen ill.

Review

Life was fine after the divorce. Patrick (Adjetey Anang) moved on to a new girlfriend and Dorothy (Yvonne Okoro) was satisfied with taking care of their daughters until the right man came along. But life threw Dorothy a curve ball and Patrick was torn between his ex-wife and kids and his new love, Kendra.

Let’s Talk. “Losing You” is a family drama that explores the family dynamics of a soon to be blended family. Yvonne Okoro plays Dorothy, Patrick’s ex-wife who had to accept the fact that Kendra (Yvonne Nelson) was his new girlfriend and that she will become a fixture in their lives in a matter of time. The children were resentful of Kendra and caused some bumps in the road.

Dorothy was later diagnosed with cancer and shared the news with Patrick. He chose to support her during her illness and moved back home. Kendra was devastated and it led to her accepting a marriage proposal from her ex-boyfriend.

Dorothy knew that Patrick was still in love with Kendra and she intervened and actually stopped Kendra from marrying the wrong man. This was a fine display of character and a rare thing to happen in real life.

Overall, this is a touching story and you can feel the authenticity of family. Yvonne Nelson never disappoints and she played an awkward mother figure really well.

Adjetey Anang gave a  fine performance alongside Yvonne Okoro who eloquently portrayed the spirit of a strong woman even through illness.

The movie is a refreshing change from the typical infidelity/love dramas. It’s sincere and completely capable of keeping an audience engrossed. RECOMMEND
