Synopsis:
A woman takes her friend’s advice and decides to control her abusive husband through unconventional methods but things get out of control when she realizes her friend’s true agenda.
Review:
Zizi (Tonto Dikeh) is married to Chike (Sam Dede), a jealous and abusive husband. She is befriended by Ruby (Stephanie Ofokansi) who promises that if Zizi controls Chike via witchcraft he will never hit her again.
At first Zizi is reluctant to take Ruby’s advice but one more slap from Chike convinces her to explore the idea. The plan goes into action and things get complicated. The one thing that becomes clear is Ruby’s ulterior motive.
Let’s Talk. This movie is intriguing and moves at a fair pace. Do we really have to lose it to appreciate it? That’s the gist of this story that flowed seamlessly to the end.
As for comments, there was some difficulty in hearing some the dialogue due to low volume or words spoken too fast. There were also subtitles indicating location and time of day, which was completely unnecessary.
“For the Promise” is well played by Dikeh, Dede and Ofokansi. The underlying message here is that karma is a b*tch. RECOMMEND

Watched this one several years ago..now it is on youtube and I’m gonna take a second look.
I watched this movie(For the promise) in 2013 and by then it had already lasted longer since production. It was a good movie. But, what I don’t understand is that the lady who acted as a witch (Stephanie Afokansi) who tried to steal Sam Dede from Tonto Dike has never been seen in another movie. What happened?
