BROKEN SILENCE

Starring: Tonto Dikeh, Uti Nwachukwu, Uche Jombo, Obiora Olife

Synopsis:

A young man is left custody of his young nephew after the death of his brother but childcare cramps his style forcing him to hire a nanny, who unbeknownst to him, has a secret agenda.

Review:

While most inherit assets from a deceased person’s will, Gerald (Uti Nwachukwu) inherited custody of his brother’s son.

The new arrangement was an inconvenience to his lifestyle as a young, philandering man and he didn’t readily accept the idea at first. He decided to hire a nanny to help raise the child but the nanny’s interest in the child was more than what met the eye.

Let’s Talk. The story commences with unusual circumstances as Gerald is forced into fatherhood to a child that isn’t his.

Instead of delving into the legalities of child custody, the story delivered expected events with a happily ever after ending.  The outcome was completely predictable.

With a little legal research it could have been a powerful movie, for example, intentions of a will versus biological rights.

As for acting there are no standouts. Tonto Dikeh and Uche Jombo play their roles well and it’s the bickering between the two that brought energy to the movie.

What saved this movie was the humor. The scenes where nannies were interviewed for the position were hilarious and so were the screaming matches between Junior (Obiora Olife) and Gerald. A little humor goes a long way. RECOMMEND
